About the University

Established in 1900 and home of the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns, UL Lafayette is the second largest university in the state and is part of the University of Louisiana System, one of the nation's twenty largest public systems of higher education. UL Lafayette has attained the Doctoral/Research-Intensive University status and now has an enrollment of 19,033 students. It is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and is a selective admissions school. UL Lafayette offers approximately 80 undergraduate, 29 masters, and eight doctorate degree programs in the following colleges and schools, many of which have achieved national prominence.
